The first appointment
Expect height, weight and BMI, a medical history covering thyroid and pancreatic conditions, a look at what you've already tried, and a conversation about which medication your plan will actually cover. Telehealth visits are usually a form plus a short video or async review.
Titration
You start on a dose too low to do much, on purpose, and step up every four weeks or so. The climb is what makes side effects manageable — most people feel the worst of it in the week after each increase, then settle.
Before dose 1
Have a sharps container, a protein plan for days when you have no appetite, electrolytes, and a way to log your shot day and injection site. Deciding these in advance is the difference between a rough first month and a boring one.
